Mr Moorby and Mrs Walsh are delighted to welcome you to Year 5: 5M!
We are incredibly excited for the year ahead and cannot wait to see all the amazing things our children will achieve. We are going to have lots of fun, work extremely hard and learn plenty of new and exciting things along the way!
Together, we will support and encourage one another, helping everyone to grow in confidence, develop their independence and reach their full potential — both academically and emotionally.
This year is going to be packed with exciting topics, fascinating learning and memorable experiences. Our lessons and educational visits will give the children lots of opportunities to develop their skills, deepen their knowledge and discover new interests.
Throughout the year, we will be travelling through time as we explore three fantastic topics:
Time Traveller – stepping back in time and discovering what life was like in the past especially in the Victorian period.
Off with Her Head! – exploring the fascinating and dramatic world of the Tudors.
Ancient Egypt – uncovering the mysteries, achievements and incredible inventions of one of the world's most famous ancient civilisations.
We are particularly looking forward to our exciting educational visits to the Black Country Living Museum and Tudor World, as well as welcoming our very own Egyptian visitor into school! These experiences will help to bring our learning to life and give the children the chance to become historians and explorers themselves.
There will be lots of fantastic learning, exciting challenges and wonderful memories made along the way.
