Dear children,

Welcome to Skylark and year 3! We have lots of interesting things planned for you. I am looking forward to getting to know you more and I’m sure you’re very excited about the months ahead.

As you know I (Mrs Martin) have moved up to year 3 with you, so you will see a familiar face in the mornings. I am very excited to be joining you through your journey in year 3. It is my first time in KS2 too!

Our first topic is called Tribal Tales and is all about The Stone Age through The Iron Age. We will find out how they used to hunt for food and the differences in how they lived. When it was studied in year 3 last year Mr Moorby said he loved learning about the first kind of art- cave paintings. We hope you fully enjoyed your first year 3 trip and discovered more about the Stone Age.

We have worked hard to ensure that your school and classroom is safe for your return. In year 3 you get your very own trays that slide under your desk with stationary pencil cases in them, please make sure you look after these and keep them tidy. If there is anything that you are worried about or have any questions, please send me a message on class dojo and I will get back to you.
