We are all super excited to have you return to school after such a long time at home. We have a mix of children who have been to our nursery and new friends who have just joined us from other places.
Since COVID and the subsequent lockdown we have had some exciting developments both indoors and outside. A castle, bridge, a huge sandpit, a road map and a new playhouse have all been built! Just ready for hours of endless adventure and fun!
Our indoor environment has had some changes too. Our areas of learning have been spread out to give you much more space to explore and learn our conservatory is now our creative area where we can get really creative and not worry about the mess!
Another new exciting step on our journey together is the fact that we are one of eight schools in the whole of Sandwell that have chosen to adopt the brand new EYFS framework a year early.
Our theme is: ‘Why do you love me so much’. We will be learning all about being good friends, forming friendships and belonging to a community sharing photographs from home and talking about the people we live with.
We will be developing our fine motor skills, learning the true meaning of numbers, counting out objects and recognising numbers. We will be listening for the sounds that objects start with and learning what those sounds look like.
It is going to be a fantastic year and we can’t wait to begin on our learning journey together!
