School Aims

At Glebefields we work as a close team for the benefit of our children. We see parents as key partners in achieving our aims which are to make sure that our children are safe, healthy, confident and happy. We support and promote fundamental British vales of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs. We believe that these are the most important factors to enable children to be successful learners, who want to make a positive contribution to the wider community, and so develop the life long skills that will help to ensure they have successful futures.

Our School Development Plan is a key document in the progress and development of our school. It is linked to our School Evaluation Form and focuses on the achievement of pupils, the quality of teaching, leadership and management and the behaviour and safety of pupils. There are many strands to what we do. The Development Plan anchors those strands within a context – that of maintaining and consolidating what is good and successful and building upon it to generate further success. It provides a framework, identifying things that are necessary to do in the short term and those that can be planned for in future years. It generates a sense of purpose and direction. Staff and governors are involved in its preparation. It is available for parents to read. All can share in the forward movement of the school, helping to create a climate for improvement and achievement. Working as a team to achieve the best for each child.
